Doug’s Auto Detailing was founded in July of 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic. With so many people staying home and few quality detailing options available in the area, we saw a chance to bring something better to the table—affordable, professional auto detailing that comes to you.
What started as a simple idea quickly grew into a trusted local service. For almost five years, we’ve proudly served Oxford, Lake Orion, and surrounding communities—offering convenient, high-quality detailing with a focus on customer care and attention to detail.

who is Doug?
Doug is a young entrepreneur from Oxford, Michigan with a lifelong passion for cars, trucks, and motorcycles. What started as washing family vehicles as a kid grew into a full-fledged love for automotive care. After gaining hands-on experience working as a detailer at local dealerships, Doug set out to build something of his own—a business rooted in quality, convenience, and pride in the work.
Armed with real-world experience and a drive to do things better, Doug launched his own detailing company with a toolbox full of skills and a clear vision. He’s constantly seeking ways to improve—from testing new products to learning advanced techniques like paint correction, headlight restoration, and odor removal. For Doug, every detail matters, and every vehicle is treated with the same care he’s had since day one.

1. What’s the difference between mobile detailing and in-shop detailing?
Mobile detailing brings the service to you—at your home, work, or another convenient location. In-shop detailing takes place at our fully equipped location, which allows for more advanced services like multi-step paint correction or ceramic coatings in a controlled environment.
2. What services do you offer?
We offer a full range of detailing services both mobile and in-shop, including:
Exterior hand washes and waxes
Interior deep cleaning and shampooing
Paint decontamination and protection
Headlight restoration
Engine bay detailing
Odor removal
Ceramic coatings and paint correction (available in-shop only)
3. How do I know which option is right for me?
Mobile detailing is great for convenience and regular maintenance. In-shop detailing is ideal for more in-depth services that require more time, equipment, or controlled conditions—like advanced paint correction, ceramic coatings, or bad weather days.
4. Do I need to be present for mobile services?
Not necessarily. As long as we have access to your vehicle and a safe working area, you don’t need to be there. We can coordinate everything by phone or online.
5. How long does a detail take?
Time varies depending on the vehicle’s condition and the services selected. A basic wash and vacuum might take 1–2 hours. Full interior/exterior details range from 3–5 hours, and in-shop services like paint correction or ceramic coating can take longer.
6. What kind of products do you use?
We use top-tier, professional-grade products—eco-friendly cleaners, high-quality waxes, sealants, and ceramic coatings. Everything we use is safe for your vehicle and effective at producing long-lasting results.
7. Do you need power or water for mobile detailing?
Nope! Our mobile units are fully self-contained with water and power. We’re ready to work just about anywhere.
8. Do you offer detailing packages or just à la carte services?
We offer both! Choose from full packages or customize your own with individual services and upgrades like hand wax, engine bay cleaning, or odor removal.
9. How often should I get my car detailed?
We recommend full detailing every 3–6 months, depending on your usage and driving conditions. Regular maintenance washes in between help keep your car looking its best year-round.
10. How can I book an appointment?

11. What’s your shop location and service area for mobile detailing?
